EDIT Also, anyone know if you can turn off the '7 digit dialing' feature? My market has just been changed and we are required to dial 10 digits, even in the same area code. Or does the software actually dial the area code, just automatically without user intervention?

2nd EDIT Nevermind, redpepper. I see with the development of the software. Gork, The way it works is if you just dial 7 digits and nothing else for a couple of seconds, it will automatically add in the area code for you and dial that number toward the magicJack network. It's just as if you had dialed in the whole 10 digit number yourself. For clarification, you can still dial the full 10 digit number if you want to. It does not block that capability at all. The simplest thing to do is just download it and try it out for a few days.

There's no charge to do that and it does come with an full uninstall program. In any case it's just software, so any challenges can readily be sorted. The thing I'm most interested in is call waiting caller id and I can report that it works as advertised. One glitch is that when you turn on call recording there is no way to turn it off without ending the call. Not only that but the 'privacy sound' or whatever you'd call it is very loud and obnoxious to both parties on the phone. I don't really care - don't plan on using that feature, but just be aware.

I've learned that if I restart magicJack I have to restart Magicfeatures as well or it doesn't work properly. This is not really a problem for me, but it doesn't seem professional. Not really a biggie at all though. I would like to see a feature implemented which could somehow completely disable voicemail. If someone calls my magicJack number directly I don't want them to be able to leave any sort of a message. The 'double ring' feature, which allows your a/m to pick up instead of mj voicemail works as advertised, though I noted it was problematic with my initial mj feature set.

The $10 fee is well worth call waiting caller id for me. My only true concern is whether or not the software will continue to work properly with mj as mj issues updates.
